Jamaine Ortiz set to Face Keyshawn Davis in WBO Eliminator January 31 at Madison Square Garden

CES Boxing standout Jamaine “The Technician” Ortiz will face unbeaten former lightweight world champion Keyshawn “The Businessman” Davis on January 31 at Madison Square Garden in a high-stakes WBO junior welterweight title eliminator. The bout will serve as the co-feature to a stacked card headlined by the highly anticipated showdown between WBO junior welterweight world champion Teofimo Lopez and unbeaten Shakur Stevenson.

The event is promoted by Ring Magazine in association with Matchroom Boxing and Sela.

Ortiz (20-2-1, 10 KOs), a 29-year-old Worcester, Massachusetts native, enters the matchup following an active and impressive 2025 campaign.  In March, Ortiz earned a unanimous decision victory over Yomar Alamo, before stopping Ambiorix Bautista by third-round TKO in August, further establishing himself as one of the most technically complete fighters in the 140-pound division.

“This is a great Christmas present and a massive way to start 2026,” said Ortiz, who gave Lopez all he could handle in a title challenge last year.  "It's win or go home.  I'm going to capitalize on this opportunity and then challenge the Lopez-Stevenson winner."

“This is exactly the type of fight Jamaine Ortiz deserves,” agreed Jimmy Burchfield, Sr., Founder and President of CES Boxing. “He’s worked his entire career for moments like this — a world-class opponent, a sold-out Madison Square Garden, and a world-title opportunity on the line. Jamaine is ready to show the boxing world that he belongs at the very top of this division.”

Standing opposite Ortiz is Davis (13-0, 9 KOs), a 26-year-old from Norfolk, Virginia, who stopped Denys Berinchyk in February to capture the WBO lightweight title. Davis is making his junior welterweight debut after missing weight in June for a scheduled bout against Edwin de los Santos, making this bout a pivotal one for his career.

Ortiz and Davis share a common opponent in Philadelphia's Nahir Albright. Ortiz earned a decisive 10-round unanimous decision victory over Albright in 2022, while Davis’ bout with Albright in 2023 was ruled a no contest after Davis following a post-fight drug test.

With championship stakes on the line in a massive card at the Mecca of Boxing, Ortiz vs. Davis stands as one of the most compelling matchups in 2026.
